The Flexibility Fallacy Stretching has long been touted as the solution to post workout tightness and muscle soreness, but research suggests that while it provides short term relief, mobility exercises are often overlooked as a more effective way to build hip strength and increase flexibility in the long term.

Fitness expert Sam Hopes recently highlighted three simple yet effective mobility routines that can be performed at home using bodyweight or light resistance.

These exercises – up and overs, standing circles, and sumo squats – may not be as flashy as lifting heavy weights or running ultramarathons, but they offer a more comprehensive approach to hip mobility.
