The study’s focus on ethnic disparities in dementia risk is striking. Hispanic populations are disproportionately affected by Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias. With 14% of Hispanic adults aged 65 or older living with Alzheimer’s, compared to 10% of non-Hispanic white older adults, it’s imperative that researchers address the unique factors contributing to this disparity.
The study used the American Heart Association’s Life’s Simple 7 (LS7) framework to incorporate behavioral and health factors into a comprehensive measure of cardiovascular health.
