Midlife Exercise May Slow Cognitive Decline

A Little Movement in Midlife Could Pay Off for Your Brain Years Later Research has added fuel to the debate on how to prevent cognitive decline, with a recent study from the University of Texas at San Antonio Health Science Center highlighting the benefits of exercise and blood sugar control in midlife.

The study analyzed 402 individuals from San Antonio, with 52% identifying as Hispanic and the rest as non Hispanic white.

Physical activity was particularly associated with slower cognitive decline among Hispanic participants, while lower fasting blood glucose levels were linked to slower cognitive decline among non Hispanic white participants.
